“Laird Hamilton has a blast in Hawaii, a trend is born in Hossegor”,<\/strong> JP Arnaud.<\/p>\n In the same way that Laird Hamilton’s experiments in Hawaii<\/strong> have been duplicated in Hossegor – stand-up paddle, foil, electric skates and bikes, jetski towed surfing – so too have Laird Hamilton replicas<\/strong> sprung up in our seaside Landes countryside. There was Fred Compagnon and his alaia-SUP, but more recently and more confidentially, there’s also Miki Dorade and his poubelle-skate<\/strong>. <\/p>\n This article is a tribute to him, because this native of the Landes region of France<\/strong> is a little G\u00e9o Trouvetout of the surfing world<\/strong>. In all discretion, far from the culture of instagrasme<\/strong>, he has invented a new eco-responsible surfing sport<\/strong> that requires no fossil fuels<\/strong>. <\/p>\n The poubelle-skate<\/strong> unites two technologies, the skateboard longboard and the garbage can container<\/strong>, and allows you to take your garbage cans down to the nearest recycling point while executing magnificent curves, like a pelican or an albatross<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Numerous tests<\/strong> were required to lower a large, heavy object, such as a container full of garbage, without losing control of the skateboard<\/strong>. A good fit between the size of the longboard skateboard, the tightness of the trucks and the size of the container was made possible by technical tests in the alleyway around the Capbreton Plage water tower<\/strong>, carried out by skateboarding professionals<\/strong>. <\/p>\n I don’t think the bin-skate will succeed in dethroning the fat-tire-electric bike (also known as the Fatbike)<\/strong>, but I wanted to pay tribute to this discreet and ingenious little Laird Hamilton from the Landes region<\/strong>.
